Crossings Book Club ReviewChristian Books, Bibles, and Other Faith Based BooksNov 22, 2009 Tiffany Brunskole
A look at the popular Crossings book club which offers all types of Christian books, Bibles, and other faith based books.
There are several different book clubs online that offer different genres of books. For Crossings book club they offer a variety of different Christian books as well as cooking, health and fitness, and craft books. They have everything from a King James Bible to Christmas with Paula Deen. The majority of the books available at Crossings book club are in the Christian genre. How Does Crossings Book Club Work? When a person joins a book club it is very important that they read the membership agreement to see what exactly they are signing up for. Some book clubs will charge a monthly fee while others will only charge for the books that are bought at any given time. At the Crossings book club, members sign up and get four books for only $.99 each (plus shipping and applicable tax) right from the start. Throughout the next year, a member must buy four more Christian books at the regular book club price. The catch is specially priced books and non-book items do not count towards the four regular priced books that must be bought in a year’s time. Hassle Free Membership to Crossings Book ClubCrossings book club also has something called a 'hassle free' membership. The way that this membership works is every 3-4 weeks a catalog is mailed out the members that has a featured selection. This featured selection is automatically charged and mailed out to hassle free members unless it is declined within ten days. A member can send back the reply card, call Crossings on the phone, or use the website to deny the featured selection. If a member of the book club decided to buy all of the featured selections it is a total of 18 books from the book club. This hassle free membership is not mandatory and a member can opt in if they want. Advantages of Joining the Book ClubThe biggest advantage of joining this Christian book club is that members can buy books at up to 30% off the normal retail price. The normal prices of the book club books are range from $12.99-$17.99 plus shipping and applicable tax. If a person knows that they will buy at least four books from Crossings book club within the year, this is a great way to save money. One must also remember that they get four books for $.99 each in the beginning as well. There are thousands of books to choose from. There are plenty of Christian books, both fiction and nonfiction, devotionals, Bibles, children’s books, cooking and craft books, and even health/fitness books. A person is bound to find four books that he or she would want to buy from the book club. Lastly, the membership can be cancelled at any time after the four books at normal price have been purchased and no penalties will ensue. Disadvantages of Joining the Book ClubOne disadvantage of joining Crossings book club is that a member has to buy four books at the normal book club price. Even though most books are up to 30% off the publisher’s price, something can happen in a year’s time where a member may not be able to afford to buy any books from the book club. When a person signs up for the book club, a year to buy books sounds like a lot of time, but things happen and if the agreement is not met, a fine is charged to the person’s credit card that they must register with. If a person is considering joining this book club, he or she must truly look at the details of the membership and decide if there are any advantages to them. If a person only buys a few Christian books a year, then a membership may not be a great idea, but if another person buys several Christian books in a year, joining Crossings book club may be a great way to save money.
